1st Round of the Tidworth Cup with Max!

Today Max and I played the 1st round in the Tidworth Cup. This competitions format is foursomes and is also a knock out. We played Gezz Proctor and Dave Wakefield (we were giving 4 shots) and beat them 6&5! Max and I played well and were +1 gross through 13 holes, a very good score for foursomes. On to round 2 (giving 6 shots!).  

Practice!

Today was a practice day! I spent 2 hours on the chipping green hitting different shots. Normal chip shots, longer chip shots, flop shots and bunker shots. Next, I did an hour putting, practicing 6ft NESW, 6ft gate drill and straight path with alignment stick, 10ft NESW. Finally, an hour on the range practicing 60,70 and 80 yard pitching and 170 yard target practice with 7 iron.

2nd Tidworth Junior Fun comp of the Easter Holidays

Today I played in a junior Texas scramble. My team consisted of my Dad (18), Polly McGrane (33) and Adam Godwin (28). We had a decent score of 66 gross and nett 57.5 (Team hcp was 8.5). We were -4 front 9 and level back 9, however, we had no bogeys so overall we played well, although was not good enough to win.

Swing Lesson with Charlie!

Today I had a swing lesson at Hall Grove school with my coach Charlie. It was very interesting and well spent time discussing certain things I need to focus on. We spent most of the lesson talking but I also hit some shots so that Charlie could see how I was swinging. Charlie said that he was really pleased with the progress I had made and the way I was currently swinging. Overall, a very helpful lesson with some valuable golfs tips and life lessons!

Terry Gosden Strokeplay Championship!

Today I played in the Terry Gosden strokeplay championship. Unfortunately, I 'No returned' on the 12th however I didn't play badly I was just a bit unlucky. My card consisted of 10 pars, 7 bogeys and an NR but I generally played OK.

1st Junior League match VS Cumberwell!

Today we played against the infamous Cumberwell Golf club, there team is always strong and it certainly was today. The whole of our team played really well and we won 4-2. I also played really well and won my match 3&1. On the front 9 it was fairly up and down between my opponent (Dom Walters, handicap was 3) and I, however I was -3 back 9 so ended winning the match comfortably.

Tidworth Junior Fun Comp!

Today I played in a Tidworth junior fun comp. I played with two little juniors called Phoenix and Tom who were great! The format was the two best scores on each hole (stableford), we had 90 points! and won! Although it was mainly Tom and Phoenix gaining our points, Tom had 50 of our 90 points! Overall fun day and nice to see some new juniors!
