I got my first golf club when I was 9 years old but I only had one lesson. When I was 10 we had mini kids golf at my primary school and I started playing. After a while I started going to group sessions at my local golf club in Tidworth where I was taught by one of the pros - Charlie Gold. I then progressed to the junior academy with the head pro at Tidworth. Charlie moved away as he found a new job however I still have individual lessons with Charlie as he is my main coach.

Foster Powell Cup
Today I played in the Foster Powell cup at Tidworth. We played a unique rolling 6 hole knock and 18 hole stableford competition, unfortunately I lost my 6 hole knock on a putt off to Tom Millar who went on to win the final but he lost to Harry Moule, but I went on to win the 18 hole stableford with 39 points which also added another £15 to this years prize fund. Over all my golf was really good but a few of my drives let me down and also a few 3 putts let me down but I was generally pleased with my golf.

Junior open at Cumberwell Park
I had my first junior open of the season today, I played the red and yellow 9 hole courses. I think I played really good playing at a different course considering I hadn't played the red 9 hole course before. The conditions today were great for golf, there was no wind and the temperature was perfect. I beat my playing partner and managed to play 1 under my handicap. When I left I was 6th on the leader boards but I will tell you where I come in my next post.

Tidworth junior match against Ogbourne
I had my second junior match of the season today and I think it went fairly well considering the wind was very very strong. The guy I was playing against was 16 handicapper, so I only received 1 shot, I ended up losing 3 down with 1 to play. Our team drew against Ogbourne 3 - 3.

Presidents Cup!
I played in the Presidents Cup today and WON! I played really well, but could have done better. I shot an 85 (my second best round) a nett 65 :) I am really please because I've only just recently been cut from 25.5 to 20.2 and now I've been cut from 20.2 to 18.8 but they cut me another 2 whole shots for an exceptional round.
Even made the local paper again! :)

June 2013!
Yes I am useless and nothing has been added for over a year!
So much has happened that I will miss things and have probably forgotten a lot. So here is a short list with some details where I can remember:
So much has happened that I will miss things and have probably forgotten a lot. So here is a short list with some details where I can remember:
- April 2012 - finally became Junior member at Tidworth Garrison Golf Club
- Continued to see Charlie every 6 weeks down at Burgess Hill Golf Centre
- Worked on a lot of different aspects of my swing as needed
- Kept in touch using video feedback that Dad takes whilst I am playing and practising
- Carried on going to Tidworth Academy until the end of 2012 but now spend the time on the course playing rounds
- Bought a new putter (2nd hand) putter from the Pro Shop - TaylorMade Rosso - then added a Chelsea grip :-)
- Asked to attend Wiltshire Junior Golf Academy in May 2012 which ran until the Autumn
- Finally (just after Christmas) managed to complete 3 rounds for handicap so now have an official handicap of 28
- Invited back to Wiltshire Academy March 2013 for early season training
- Have set target for 2013 to get down to 18 handicap and then down to 8 for 2014....
- Bought myself a new (2nd hand) driver and 3w from the pro shop - TaylorMade RBZ - very nice!
- New driver and 3w have made a huge difference to my game as much longer
- Dad is still keeping on all my stats on spreadsheets but I don't really look at them as often as I should
- Dad has created a spreadsheet I can use on my phone to record my short game block practise scores when I go up to the club
- As soon as the clocks changed I started going up to the club 3 times a week after school
- May 27th I finally played by first handicap open junior competition at Cumberwell Park. It was very very windy and I found it a hard. I had some great holes but some not do great - didn't earn any OOM points which was my target
- Played a junior Bowmaker at TGGC on 29th May and the team came third, only 3 points behind the winners!
- 31st May I was asked to represent the club in a match on Sunday so hopefully more news then
